Revenue department employees were held hostage and beaten, the team had arrived on the complaint of illegal mining

20 to 25 people held hostage the members of the Revenue Department team who had come to investigate a complaint of illegal mining in Kannauj. Then they were beaten up. The department’s accountant has made such allegations by giving a written complaint to the police station. The police have registered a case in the matter and started further action. The police have also raised questions on the Revenue Department team.

While giving an application in Chhibramau police station, Lekhpal Gajendra Singh of Chhibramau tehsil of Kannauj district said that we had reached the spot with the Naib Tehsil on the complaint of mining in Ranveerpur village. Meanwhile, the mining mafia, along with 20-25 of their men, took us hostage and locked us in a room and beat us up.

In this case, the police have registered a case on the complaint of the accountant and started investigation. Chhibramau CO Omkar Nath Sharma said that on August 31, accountant Gajendra Singh has given an application to Chhibramau police station. It includes the names of four named persons and some unknown persons. Action was demanded against all of them for assault and threats.

When the matter was investigated, it was found that the accused against whom the complaint was made had taken permission for mining from the mining department. An investigation will be conducted to find out whether the place where mining was taking place is correct or not. On the other hand, the revenue team did not inform the police before going to the mining site, nor did they inform after the incident.

The CO said that the incident is said to have happened on the evening of August 30. In such a situation, no information was given even after the incident. A case has been registered in this matter and investigation is being done. Action will be taken after this.
