A 72-year-old man, retired as a mechanic from MTNL, was murdered in New Ashok Nagar, Delhi on Saturday morning. Two attackers entered the victim’s house and stabbed him to death. On receiving information about the incident, the police reached the spot and took the body into their custody. The police has sent the body to the hospital for post-mortem. The matter is being investigated.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Apoorva Gupta said that a PCR call was received in New Ashok Nagar. It was told that someone has killed the caller’s father. On this information, the local police reached the spot at house number C-2/33 in New Ashok Nagar. In the house, a person named Gautam Thakur was found dead on the bed in his room on the first floor. He was stabbed in the stomach.
He said that the PCR call was made by Gautam Thakur’s elder son Mukesh Thakur. The crime team was called on the spot. The team inspected the spot and took photographs. Gautam, who retired from MTNL in 2012, was living on the first floor of this house with his two sons and their families. In this case, a case has been registered against unknown persons on the basis of the complaint of the family members.

Police said that during the investigation it was found that all the family members were present in the house at the time of the incident. Gautam Thakur’s son has revealed that he saw two people leaving the house immediately after the incident, but this is being confirmed. CCTV cameras of the area are being scanned to identify the accused. At present, nothing suspicious has been found. Investigation into this case is ongoing.

The accused attacker was said to be a relative of the victim mother and daughter. This incident took place in Tilak Nagar area of West Delhi. Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Vichitra Veer had said that on the day of the incident, a man named Rahul attacked the mother and daughter at 2:30 pm. After this, the local people immediately informed the police about this attack. The attacker was said to be a relative of both the women. After the attack, both the women were taken to the hospital, where the elderly woman died during treatment.
