Retired Major General digitally arrested in Noida, cyber criminals duped him of Rs 2 crore

There is a continuous increase in cases of digital arrest in Noida, the latest case is from Sector 31 of Noida. Cyber ​​​​thugs digitally arrested a retired Major General living here and swindled Rs 2 crore from him. The victim has filed a case in Cyber ​​​​Crime Sector 36 police station. Cyber ​​​​crime police has formed three teams to catch the fraudsters.

According to the information, retired Major General NK Dheer, who lives in Sector 31, Noida, received a call on August 10. In which the cyber thugs introduced themselves as employees of DHL courier. The cyber thugs told the victim that a parcel is going to Taiwan and that parcel was opened by Mumbai Customs in which drugs and banned medicines were found. After this, the cyber thugs connected the victim to a person through WhatsApp in the name of Bombay Crime Police. Who kept the victim connected on WhatsApp video call in the name of investigation.

Retired Major General duped of Rs 2 crore

A day later, the miscreants called the victim, a retired Major General, in the name of DCP Rajput. Pretending to be an interrogator, they took complete details of the victim’s bank, mutual fund and FD to settle the entire matter. After this, on August 14, the accused transferred the entire fund of Rs 2 crore from the victim’s account to another bank account. Realizing that he had been cheated, the victim lodged a complaint at the local police station.

Police registered a case on the complaint of the victim

ACP Cyber ​​Crime Vivek Ranjan Rai said that the victim received a call through WhatsApp in which he was told about sending drugs in Taiwan parcel in his name and he was asked to complain to Mumbai Crime Branch. The victim was duped by making him transfer Rs 2 crore in the name of investigation. A case has been registered on the basis of the victim’s complaint. The accused are being searched.
