Uttarakhand rescue, State Disaster Response Force (sdrfThe SDRF on Thursday rescued 10 youths stranded on an island near Robbers Cave in Dehradun. According to the SDRF, “We received information from the City Control Room (CCR) that some people are stranded on an island near Robbers Cave (Guchhupani) and require SDRF team for their rescue.” On receiving the information, the SDRF rescue team from Sahastradhara outpost along with Sub Inspector Laxmi Rawat immediately left for the site with necessary rescue equipment.

Earlier, heavy rains caused the usually dry Sukhi river to swell, washing away several parked cars and flooding houses and major roads in Haridwar.

In a relief and rescue operation, a team of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) pulled out four submerged vehicles from the river Ganga that were swept away by floods in a rain drain near Kharakhari in Haridwar on July 1.

Due to heavy rains in Haridwar, the water level of the Ganges river increased and there was a severe flood.

These vehicles were handed over to the district police and were washed away into the Ganga river due to the sudden overflowing of a rain drain near Kharakhari area following heavy rains in Haridwar early last week. After several hours of hard work, the SDRF team pulled out four vehicles from the river and handed them over to the district police. Heavy rains in Haridwar last week led to a massive flood as the water level in the Ganga river rose, causing vehicles to float and roads to remain inundated.
