Flood in Rau IAS coaching, After the IAS coaching centre accident in Rajendra Nagar, Delhi, the police have registered an FIR and have also formed several committees to investigate the incident. The police have also arrested the owner and coordinator of Rao IAS Study Circle and have registered a case against them under various charges including culpable homicide. Let us tell you, three candidates preparing for the civil service examination died due to water logging in the basement of this coaching centre building.

On the other hand, a Delhi Police official said that several teams have been formed to investigate the entire incident. We have asked the Delhi Fire Service to provide a report about the building and basement, which was being used as a library but was described as a store room. He said that the basement was eight feet below the ground level and more than 18 students were present in it on Saturday evening when it was flooded after heavy rain.   • The incident took place at 6.35 pm, when rainwater suddenly filled the basement of Rao IAS Study Centre.
  • As soon as the information about the incident was received, ASI Birendra of Delhi Police immediately reached the spot, but the situation was very bad. After which the SHO and other officers were informed at the police station.
  • According to fire department officials, they received the call at around 7:10 pm.
  • The fire department office is located in Prasad Nagar, about 1 km away from the incident spot. Therefore, the fire brigade reached the spot by 7.15.
  • According to the fire officer, immediately the water was pumped out from the basement. In such a situation, the help of divers was needed. Therefore, NDRF was informed about this.
  • According to sources, the NDRF team reached the spot at around 9 o’clock.
  • Electricity in the area was cut off. Therefore, the rescue operation was carried out using a large torch.
  • According to the fire department, the body of the first student was removed at around 10:40 pm.
  • The second body was taken out at around 11:10 pm.
  • The third body was found by NDRF at around 1 am.

Police will see the CCTV footage

According to sources in the police department, the entrance to the basement was closed but due to heavy flow of rainwater, it got damaged and water entered it. “We are checking CCTV footage of the area to find out the sequence of events. After scanning the CCTV footage, we will identify people who were standing near the institute during the incident and record their statements,” the official said. “We have started the investigation by registering an FIR under sections 105 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder), 106 (1) (causing death of any person by rash or negligent act, not amounting to culpable homicide), 115 (2) (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 290 (negligence in relation to demolishing, repairing or erecting buildings) and 35 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Rajendra Nagar police station,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) M. Harsh Vardhan said.
