Its door was last opened in 1985 but then only repairs were done. The last account of the treasure present in the Ratna Bhandar was taken in 1978. Justice Biswanath Rath has informed the media today that as soon as the Ratna Bhandar opens on the 14th, the treasure will be counted.

Ratna Bhandar was built in the 12th century temple

Jagannath Temple, one of the four Dhams, was built in the 12th century. Built on the basis of Kalinga architecture, a Ratna Bhandar was also built in this temple. It is said that the jewels of the three deities of the Jagannath temple, Jagannath, Balabhadra and Subhadra, are kept in this Ratna Bhandar. Many kings and devotees had offered jewels to the Lord, which are likely to be here. The jewels received as donations were kept in the Ratna Bhandar. The price of the diamonds and jewels present in this Ratna Bhandar is said to be in billions.

PM Modi had raised the issue

Let us tell you that during the Lok Sabha election campaign in Odisha, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had mentioned the Ratna Bhandar after visiting the Jagannath temple in Puri. He said that the Jagannath temple is not safe. The key to the Ratna Bhandar of the temple has been missing for the last 6 years. He also mentioned that the key was sent to Tamil Nadu. He was pointing towards VK Pandian who left his IAS job and joined politics. PM Modi had also raised the issue of Ratna Bhandar on Twitter. In a tweet, he targeted the Biju Janata Dal of Odisha and said that the Jagannath temple of Puri is not safe under the Biju Janata Dal government. The key to the Ratna Bhandar has been missing for the last 6 years.
