Rape settlement for one lakh, victim kept sitting in police station for 10 hours… Barabanki SP suspends inspector, SHO lines present

A sensational incident has come to light in Barabanki, UP, where a minor Dalit girl was first kidnapped and then raped. In this case, action has been taken against the local police station in-charge and a sub-inspector for negligence. This action has been taken on the orders of the district SP Dinesh Kumar Singh. The youth accused of rape has also been arrested.

Allegedly, the police initially did not register an FIR on the complaint of the victim, and when the FIR was registered, they made changes in the complaint. During this, the victim was made to sit in the police station for about 10 hours. The policemen are also accused of getting a rape settlement for Rs 1 lakh.

However, now on the complaint to the police officers, the SP has suspended the police station in-charge and the outpost in-charge. Also, on the complaint of the victim’s maternal uncle, a case has been registered under the sections of rape and investigation has been started.

Police settled the matter for Rs 1 lakh!

The victim’s maternal uncle has alleged that when he complained about this to the police, the concerned Trilokpur outpost in-charge Manoj Kumar tried to force a settlement. One lakh rupees was also given in exchange for settlement, out of which 50 thousand were sent online to the account and the rest was given in cash.

The uncle said that the victim girl does not have parents. She lives with them. The police took action only when they complained to the CM. They were made to sit in the police station from 11 am to 9 pm. Even after this, instead of taking any action, the victim’s side was forcibly made to settle the matter with the accused. When no action was taken at the police station, they sent a letter to the Chief Minister complaining about the incident and also complained about the matter to the SP.
