Ranchi land scam case, In the Ranchi land scam, the ED has arrested another land dealer Kamlesh Kumar on Friday after questioning him for about six hours. Kamlesh was issued several summons by the agency for questioning in the last one and a half months. But, he was not appearing. After the sixth consecutive summons, he reached the agency’s office on Airport Road on Friday.
On June 21, the ED raided his residence in Aster Green Apartments, Chandni Chowk, Kanke Road in connection with the land scam. During this, about one crore cash and more than 100 cartridges were recovered. After this, on July 9 and 10, the agency also raided the Kanke Resort run in his partnership.
Kamlesh Kumar has been to jail before
After this, the agency also scrutinized documents in Ranchi’s Kanke zone for two days, in which it was revealed that Kamlesh, in connivance with the officers of the zone office, had made fake land documents and illegally bought and sold land on a large scale. A large number of villagers also recorded statements before the ED, accusing Kamlesh Kumar and his associates of occupying land at gunpoint. Kamlesh has already gone to jail in the case of illegal occupation of Birsa Agriculture University’s land in Kanke. It is alleged that he had also sold land to many police officers of the state in an illegal manner by manipulating the documents.
Land of many villagers sold illegally
The agency has received information that he has sold the land of many villagers by making fake deeds. Kamlesh is originally a resident of Sitaramdera police station area of Jamshedpur and was living in Ranchi for about a decade and a half. He worked as a press photographer for a few years and then as a crime reporter. Later he got involved in the land business.
