Raksha Bandhan 2024: Who is Bhadra due to whose fear sisters do not tie Rakhi to their brothers? What will be its timing on Raksha Bandhan

Rakhi 2024: Every year the festival of Rakshabandhan is celebrated on Sawan Purnima. On this day, sisters tie a Rakhi or a protective thread on their brother’s wrist and wish him well. In return, the brother promises to protect his sister. This year the festival of Rakshabandhan will be celebrated on 19 August i.e. tomorrow. But this time Rakshabandhan will also be under the shadow of Bhadra. In the scriptures, tying a Rakhi to a brother during Bhadra period is considered forbidden. Let us know who Bhadra is and for how long will Bhadra’s shadow remain on Rakshabandhan.

From when to when will Bhadra remain on Raksha Bandhan?
On Raksha Bandhan, Bhadra Kaal will be from 02.21 pm to 01.30 pm on 19th August. On Raksha Bandhan, Bhadra will be tail from 09.51 am to 10.53 am. Then Bhadra Mukha will be from 10.53 am to 12.37 pm. Bhadra Kaal will end at 01.30 pm.

However, this Bhadra Kaal will not have any effect on Raksha Bandhan. Actually, due to the Moon being in Capricorn, Bhadra will reside in the netherworld. Therefore, the auspicious work happening on earth will not be interrupted. Therefore, you can tie a Rakhi to your brother at any time on Raksha Bandhan.

Who is Bhadra?
According to mythological beliefs, Bhadra is the daughter of Sun God and sister of Shani Dev. Like Shani, her nature is also cruel. However, the literal meaning of Bhadra is welfare. On the contrary, auspicious work is prohibited during Bhadra Kaal. Bhadra travels in all three worlds according to the zodiac sign. Due to its presence on Earth, auspicious works are hindered.

Bhadrakaal is extremely inauspicious. Auspicious and auspicious works are prohibited during this period. It is believed that Bhadra of the earth destroys all works. In such a situation, if you are planning to tie a rakhi to your brother during Bhadrakaal, then stop. Wait a little. Tie a rakhi to your brother only after the shadow of Bhadra goes away.

Effects of tying Rakhi in Bhadra
The shadow of Bhadra is very inauspicious on Rakshabandhan. It is said that Surpanakha had tied a Rakhi to Ravana in Bhadra Nakshatra, after which a war broke out between Ram and Ravana. Ravana also lost his life. In Dwapar Yug, Draupadi had also mistakenly tied a Rakhi to her brother in Bhadra Kaal. After this, Draupadi lost all her happiness and peace. Draupadi had to bear the pain of disrobing, which culminated in the war of Kurukshetra.
