Rajouri News: Hospital vandalized, female doctor misbehaved with… Accused arrested after doctors protest

In the early hours of Monday, a man created a ruckus and vandalized a hospital in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir. He also misbehaved and harassed a female doctor on duty. After this, the doctors stopped work and protested. The police have arrested the accused in this case.

Giving information about this, Rajouri police officials told PTI that the accused has been identified as Gurpreet Singh. Doctors and paramedical staff protested due to the indecent behavior of accused Gurpreet Singh at the sub-district hospital of Nowshera.

Police and medical officers said that the ruckus started at around 12.45 am. At that time the accused Gurpreet Singh reached the hospital with a patient and started creating ruckus there without any provocation. He was using abusive language.

During this time, the accused Gurpreet Singh broke a window glass in the hospital and also misbehaved with a female doctor. The female doctor was trying to intervene. But the accused started misbehaving with her and then he fled from the spot.

After this uproar, the doctors and paramedical staff of the hospital stopped their work and protested demanding strict action against the accused and adequate security in the hospital premises. The entire staff was united and expressing their anger.

As soon as the matter was reported, senior civil and police officials reached the spot and informed the doctors about the arrest of the accused Gurpreet Singh and the registration of a case against him under relevant sections of the criminal law. Only then did the protest end.

Block Medical Officer Iqbal Malik said that the accused vandalised hospital property and harassed a female doctor on duty without any provocation. Now the police have arrested the accused, after which the hospital staff has returned to their duty.
