Meanwhile, Olympian wrestler, female wrestler Vinesh Phogat reached Shambhu border on Saturday. Here the farmers welcomed and honored her by garlanding her. Expressing her support for the farmers, Vinesh Phogat said, “Farmers have been sitting here for a long time for their rights, but their energy has still not diminished. I consider myself lucky that I was born in a farmer’s family. Your daughter is with you. We have to stand up for our rights, because no one else will come for us. I pray to God that your demands are met, and do not return until you get your rights.” She said, ‘When we raise our voice for our demands, it is not always political. You should listen to us.’

She further added, “It’s not always about caste or anything else. I pray that you get your rights, and our daughters are with you.”

Appealing to the government in support of the farmers, Vinesh Phogat said, “Farmers have been sitting for 200 days for their rights and I appeal to the government to meet their demands. It is very sad that they have not been heard for 200 days. We get strength to fight for our rights by seeing them.”

Reaction of farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher:

Farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher stressed the progress of the movement and said that it is going on peacefully but with great intensity. He said, “The central government is testing our resolve and our demands have not been met yet. We will once again put our demands before the government and new announcements will also be made.” Pandher said that completing 200 days of protest is an important milestone, which shows the determination of the farmers.
