The series of heavy rains in Gujarat is not stopping. Due to continuous rains, the rivers are in spate and there is a flood like situation in many districts. Rain water has entered from homes to shops, due to which people are facing a lot of problems. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in Gujarat for the next 7 days.

According to meteorologist Ramashrya Yadav, there are chances of heavy rains in the state due to the activation of cyclonic circulation, shear zone and offshore trough. In Gujarat, today i.e. on 29th July, an orange alert has been issued at some places and a yellow alert at other places. Apart from this, heavy rains are expected in Jamnagar, Porbandar, Dwarka and Kutch. An orange alert has been issued for heavy rains with thunderstorms in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar. According to the Meteorological Department, there are chances of heavy rains in most of the districts of Gujarat today.

An alert for heavy rain has been issued in Ahmedabad, Gujarat today i.e. on 29th July. There is a possibility of lightning in Ahmedabad on 30th July. Apart from this, there is a possibility of rain with strong winds on 31st July. According to IMD, the maximum temperature of Ahmedabad can remain between 32 to 34 degree Celsius this whole week and the minimum temperature is likely to remain around 25 to 27 degree Celsius.

How much rain fell in which district

Saurashtra in Gujarat has received 50 percent more rain than the average. 413.1 mm of rain has already fallen as against 276 mm. On the other hand, rainy conditions will continue in Central North Gujarat and South Gujarat. 451 mm of rain should have fallen here and till now 431 mm has fallen. Overall, 353 mm of rain should have fallen in Gujarat and till now 418 mm of rain has fallen. According to the Meteorological Department, 18 percent more rain has fallen in Gujarat as compared to the average.

Heavy rain alert issued in these districts

According to IMD, after Saurashtra, now Vadodara and Ahmedabad districts of Central Gujarat may also receive heavy rains. IMD has put Ahmedabad, Anand, Vadodara, Chhota Udaipur and Bharuch on orange alert for July 29. Along with this, a yellow alert of heavy rain has been put for Banaskantha, Patan, Mehsana, Sabarkantha, Gandhinagar, Aravalli, Kheda, Panchmahal, Dahod, Mahisagar, Narmada, Surat, Dang, Navsari, Valsad, Tapi, Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli, Surendranagar, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Bhavnagar, Morbi and Botad.
