Railways will give a unique card for Rs 100, 27 lakh employees-pensioners will get free treatment in AIIMS

Railways has made a big change in its health care policy. Railways will issue a unique medical identification card to its employees, their dependents and pensioners. With the help of this card, free treatment can be availed in railway designated hospitals and all AIIMS in the country without any referral. This card can be made for just Rs 100.

Railways gave good news

Let us tell you that this new system will benefit more than 12 lakh railway employees, more than 15 lakh pensioners and 10 lakh dependents. This order was issued by Railway Board’s Executive Director, Transformation Pranav Kumar Malik and this order has come into effect with immediate effect. Actually, this decision has been taken after complaints from employees and pensioners regarding referrals. They alleged that doctors used to issue referrals in the name of their favorite hospitals. After the new system, this will now be completely stopped.

Railways will now issue a list of hospitals and testing centers for the treatment of all employees, pensioners and their dependents. Referral to a particular hospital will be issued only under special circumstances, but the referral will be valid only for 30 days. The UMID card will be kept in Digi Locker through Health Management Information System (HMIS). It will also be available on the profile of employees and pensioners. This card can also be used for emergency or general treatment in all railway hospitals, panel private hospitals, diagnostic centers.

According to the order issued by the Railways, pensioners or their dependents will not be denied treatment even if the (UMID) card is not issued. Even if the card is not received immediately, its UMID number will already be created on the basis of the information provided by the employee. So that they can avail the facility. The rest of the information in the unique card will be filled in the (HMIS) database after verification.
