Railway under bridge filled with water upto 5 feet, the patient was taken on a cot till then

You are seeing a person being carried on a cot in the middle of water. This is not a scene from a TV serial, but a reality. This is the reality of Ratlam district of Madhya Pradesh. The road to about 5 villages of Ratlam district, Dhikwa, Masavadiya, Bhilkhedi, etc., passes through the middle of the railway track between Ratlam and Indore railway line. Earlier, there was a railway crossing in the middle on the road built to connect these villages to the district headquarters Ratlam. But about five years ago, the Railway closed the railway crossing and built an under bridge below the railway track. As soon as the under bridge was built, the people of these villages started facing problems during rains.

During rains, the under bridge gets flooded. Due to this, people have to face a lot of trouble in commuting. People of these villages have to travel around 15 to 20 kilometers to reach Ratlam.

Recently, Ratanlal Bhabhar, a resident of village Bhilkhedi, left his house on Sunday evening to go to his farm. He did not return home at night. In the morning, his family members were informed that he was lying unconscious on the farm. The family members arrived. They put Ratanlal in a tractor from the village and started taking him to Ratlam city for treatment. But on the way, the under bridge was filled with rain water. No one could go from here to there due to 5-7 feet of water. The family members were worried. They had to save their loved one. Everyone started trying at their own level. The ambulance was called, which was standing on the other side, but the problem was how to take the unconscious Ratanlal to the other side?

When no solution was found, the sick man was put on a cot and some people carried him like a bier through the under bridge and took him to the ambulance. But the efforts of these people were in vain. Ratan Lal died. Doctors in Ratlam declared him dead.

When the family saw the trouble in bringing the sick person, they decided to perform the last rites in Ratlam itself. After performing the last rites of Ratanlal’s body in Ratlam after the post-mortem, the family returned to their home in the village Bhilkhedi.

Due to waterlogging in the under bridge, the villagers are cut off from the district headquarters during the monsoon season. To solve this problem, the villagers have informed the Gram Panchayat and senior public representatives several times, but their problem still persists.

According to the villagers, when the under bridge was being built, the railway officials were informed about this problem, but no attention was paid. Now the villagers are suffering the consequences of the negligence of the railway officials.
