Improvement of working conditions
The duty hours of loco pilots are carefully monitored. Rest is given after the trips. Average. The duty hours are maintained within the prescribed hours. The average is less than 8 hours in the month of June this year. Only in very urgent circumstances the duration of the trip exceeds the prescribed hours.
Loco Cab Facility
Pilots operate the engine from the loco cab. Before 2014, the condition of the cab was very poor. Since 2014, the cab has been improved with ergonomic seats, and more than 7000 loco cabs are air-conditioned. New locomotives are manufactured with AC cabs.
Off-duty rest facilities
When pilots complete a trip, they come to the running room to rest while they are away from headquarters. Before 2014, the condition of the running rooms was very poor. Almost all (558) running rooms are now air conditioned. Foot massagers are also provided in many running rooms.
Recruitment
A major recruitment process has been completed in the last few years and 34,000 running staff have been recruited. At present, the recruitment process for 18,000 running staff is underway.
