During the discussion on the President’s address in the Lok Sabha, Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi stood up to speak. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Monday objected to Rahul Gandhi’s display of a picture of Lord Shiva in the House after the latter attacked the BJP, saying Hinduism does not mean spreading fear, hatred and lies.

His remarks came during a discussion on the motion of thanks on the President’s address in a joint session of Parliament. Gandhi said, “Hinduism cannot spread fear and hatred, while the BJP does the same.” The Congress leader also said that all religions talk of courage and cited Islam and Sikhism to emphasise that one should be fearless.

Meanwhile, objecting to Gandhi displaying the picture of Lord Shiva, the Speaker said, ‘Rules do not allow display of placards.’

Prime Minister Modi said, “Calling the entire Hindu society violent is a serious issue.” Replying to the Prime Minister, Rahul Gandhi said, “The BJP and Prime Minister Modi are not the entire Hindu society.” Speaking in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi also accused the BJP of systematically attacking the Constitution and the basic idea of ​​India, saying that millions of people have opposed the ideas proposed by the ruling party.

Rahul Gandhi said, ‘I was attacked on the orders of Prime Minister Modi. He said, ‘I feel good that BJP people are now repeating ‘Jai Samvidhaan’ after me.’ Rahul Gandhi also took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that he talks directly to God.
