Under the coaching of Rahul Dravid, the Indian cricket team won the T20 World Cup 2024 title. Dravid’s tenure as head coach ended with the T20 World Cup. Now Dravid’s son Samit has also followed in his father’s footsteps. 18-year-old Samit Dravid has been selected in the Indian team for ODIs and four-day matches against Australia-19.

Samit is not only a great right-handed batsman. He also bowls right-arm medium pace. Samit Dravid has also been a part of the Karnataka Under-19 team, which won the Cooch Behar Trophy in the 2023-24 season. He also represented the Karnataka State Cricket Association XI in a three-day match against Lancashire. Samit Dravid is part of the Mysore Warriors team in the Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 tournament.

Samit will be seen playing for India for the first time at the Under-19 level. Samit has been selected in India’s Under-19 team, but he will not be able to play in the Under-19 World Cup to be held in 2026. Samit’s father Rahul Dravid is considered one of the greatest players in the world. 50-year-old Rahul Dravid represented India in 164 Tests and 340 ODIs, and also captained the team during 2005-07. There are only two batsmen from Team India who have scored more than 10,000 runs in both Tests and ODIs. One great batsman is Sachin Tendulkar and the other is Rahul Dravid. Dravid scored 13,288 runs in Test cricket at an average of 52.31, which included 36 centuries and 63 half-centuries. In ODI International, Dravid has 10,889 runs to his name at an average of 39.16.
