BSP supremo Mayawati has now reacted to the way Rahul Gandhi-Akhilesh Yadav debated with BJP MP Anurag Thakur on the issue of caste census in the Lok Sabha. Describing the dispute between these leaders in Parliament as drama, she said that their parties have a history of being vehemently anti-OBC regarding reservation. It is not right to trust them.
Mayawati wrote on X- Yesterday, the ongoing dispute between Congress and BJP etc. in Parliament, especially on caste and caste census, was a drama and an attempt to deceive the OBC community, because the history of both the parties regarding their reservation has been fiercely anti-OBC, both openly and behind the scenes. In such a situation, it is not right to trust them.

Mayawati further said that just like the OBC reservation implemented here due to the efforts of BSP, the National Caste Census is a special national issue of public interest, towards which the Center needs to be serious. Crores of poor, backward and Bahujans also have a right in the development of the country, in fulfilling which the caste census has an important role.
There was a heated debate in Parliament
In fact, the opposition is constantly demanding caste census in the Parliament. On this, Hamirpur MP Anurag Thakur from BJP had commented targeting the Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi. He had said that he is demanding caste census in the country, but he himself does not know his caste.
There was a huge protest from the opposition against Anurag Thakur’s statement. An apology was also demanded. However, Rahul Gandhi said that he does not want an apology from Anurag Thakur, but caste census will be done. But SP chief Akhilesh Yadav was quite vocal about Anurag Thakur’s statement. He angrily said in Parliament that he (Anurag Thakur) cannot ask anyone’s caste. After this there was a lot of uproar in the House.
Even before this, there was a dispute between Anurag Thakur and Akhilesh Yadav on the issue of Agniveer. Akhilesh asked Anurag Thakur, “Where is Chail? Have you ever been to that military school? I myself have studied in a military school. You keep talking about Param Vir Chakra, we can also name many people who have received Param Vir Chakra.”
On this, Anurag Thakur said, “He has only gone to a military school. I am still serving in the army with the rank of Captain. Akhilesh ji, don’t just share knowledge. You have also got into the habit of lying while sitting with Rahul Gandhi ji and spreading your arms.”
