Pro-Khalistan MP Amritpal Singh, In Phillaur, Jalandhar, Punjab, the police arrested Harpreet Singh, brother of pro-Khalistan MP from Khardoor Sahib Amritpal Singh, with drugs. SSP Ankur Gupta and DSP Phillaur Sarwanjit Singh said that 5 grams of drugs have been recovered from Harpreet Singh. The police have also got the matter videographed. The police caught Harpreet Singh during a blockade on the Phillaur highway. DSP Sarwanjit Singh said that the source of the recovered drugs is being investigated. He said that Harpreet Singh has been medically examined and intoxication has been confirmed. A case has been registered against Harpreet Singh and he has also been arrested.
Amritpal Singh is lodged in Dibrugarh jail in Assam
Let us tell you, on February 23 last year, Amritpal Singh and people associated with his organization ‘Waris Punjab De’ attacked Ajnala police station. Amritpal Singh carried out this attack demanding the release of Lovepreet Toofan. Lovepreet Toofan was arrested by the police on charges of kidnapping and assaulting a person. However, the police released him after the uproar.
Due to this incident, the police had registered a case. After this, many of Amritpal Singh’s associates were caught but he remained absconding for many days. Later, the Punjab Police also imposed the National Security Act (NSA) on Amritpal Singh. Amritpal Singh was arrested about two months after this incident. Since then, he is lodged in Dibrugarh jail in Assam. Many more cases are registered against Amritpal.
