According to the police, the firing incident took place in Nana Peth area of ​​Pune. According to sources, the attacker fired bullets at Vanraj with a pistol around 8.30 pm on Sunday night. Andekar, who was injured in the attack, was admitted to a private hospital, where he died during treatment.

The attacker fired 5-6 rounds

After the incident, panic has spread in Nana Peth. It is being told that when Vanraj was attacked, he was staying in Doke Taleem area of ​​Nana Peth. During this, the attacker fired five to six rounds from a pistol. Before firing on Vanraj, there was reportedly a power outage in the area.

Mutual animosity could be the reason

According to the police, as soon as the information about the incident was received, the Crime Branch officials immediately reached the spot. Vanraj was taken to the nearby KEM Hospital, but the doctors declared him dead. It is being said that the reason behind the murder of Vanraj Andekar could be mutual rivalry and dispute over supremacy. Pune Police is trying to trace the attackers. Teams have been formed for this.

Vanraj was elected corporator in the 2017 Pune Municipal Corporation elections. Vanraj’s mother Rajshree Andekar and uncle Udaykant Andekar have also been corporators. Vanraj’s sister Vatsala Andekar has been the mayor of Pune.
