Protest politics in response to protest… The fight for justice in Bengal has now come to a show of strength!

Questions are being raised continuously against the Mamata government in West Bengal regarding the gruesome incident that happened with the female doctor in RG Kar Medical College on the night of 8-9 August. Now even President Draupadi Murmu has had to ask questions about this incident. She wrote, Women’s Safety Enough is Enough. That is, enough is enough now. The President said that when I heard about this, I was very disappointed and scared. No civilized society can allow atrocities on daughters and sisters and the anger of the people of the country is justified.

Show of strength in West Bengal
On Tuesday, when student organizations tried to protest till Nabanna, i.e. the secretariat of the Bengal government, the police resorted to lathicharge. Tear gas shells were fired. The BJP called for a 12-hour bandh in Bengal. BJP and TMC workers came face to face at Hindmotor railway station in Hooghly. When BJP leaders reached there to stop the train, allegations were made that TMC workers were already present there, and both of them clashed with each other. The police then controlled the situation.

BJP leaders were taken into custody by the police
When BJP workers led by Sukanto Majumdar came out to enforce the bandh, they were stopped by the police. Many workers even climbed on the roofs of roadways buses in Kolkata. Many people also uprooted and threw away the barricades. When Locket Chatterjee came out on the streets of Kolkata, she was detained by the police. When Roopa Ganguly also came out on the streets of Kolkata, she too was stopped by the police. BJP’s Rahul Sinha was also detained by the police.

‘BJP wants to see dead bodies on the streets of Bengal’
On the other hand, Mamta Banerjee said that BJP called the bandh deliberately. They want to see dead bodies on the roads of Bengal. Let us tell you that during the bandh in Bhatpara of North 24 Parganas in West Bengal, bullets were fired on which many questions are being raised. It is claimed that firing was done on the car of BJP leader Priyangu Pandey, in which the driver of the BJP leader got shot. BJP leader Priyangu Pandey also claims that his car was targeted, bombs were also thrown. 6 to 7 rounds of bullets were also fired.

He said, we left to go to Arjun Singh’s house, it must not have been even three minutes, the road was blocked, as soon as our car stopped, 50-60 people started throwing bombs targeting the car. 7 to 8 bombs were thrown. After that we were targeted and shot at. He said that 6 to 7 rounds of bullets were fired, this is a complete collusion of TMC and police.

‘TMC will answer BJP’
TMC MP Sayani Ghosh said that if BJP calls for a bandh, then TMC has also decided that it will also respond by taking to the streets. On the other hand, Mamata has said that women should protest on Sunday. Mamata Banerjee demands that a strict law should be made against rape in the country. The CM said that the government will bring such a law in the assembly that will provide justice in rape cases within 10 days. Mamata said that if the bill is not passed by the Raj Bhavan, then there will be a protest there too.

Now the question is whether the bandh will continue to be played? And will every woman get justice through this? Or will such pictures keep appearing in Bengal amidst the protest politics where during the protest on Wednesday, bus drivers were seen driving buses wearing helmets. That means the leaders will do politics on all sides and the public has to take care of their own safety.
