UP News: A case of love jihad has come to light from Nigoha in Lucknow. Here a man trapped a woman in his love trap by hiding his identity. After this, he converted her religion and gave her triple talaq.

The victim alleges that Taj Mohammad had told her his name was Bablu. He trapped her in a love trap and took her away with him. When she came to know that his name was not Bablu but Taj Mohammad, she protested. After this, Taj beat her up and forced her to convert to Islam and named her Nazia. Then he married her.

The victim has said in her complaint that she was forced to live with him. During this time she also became pregnant. Then somehow she started making ends meet. The victim said that she collected money by working hard in the Rajiv Gandhi Mahila Vikas Project.

Taj Mohammad took money from the woman and went to Saudi Arabia. Then gradually he stopped coming. Later it was revealed that Taj had married a girl named Sajiya, who is a resident of Tola Malouli in Gosaiganj, Lucknow. When she protested, she was beaten up. He started torturing her physically and mentally and one day he threw her out of the house.

The victim said that after this she went to her brother, where her brother gave her shelter. Meanwhile, one day Taj Mohammad came to her brother’s house and started quarreling. Then he divorced her by saying Talaq three times. The victim said that the way to live with her husband was closed, then she went to the police station and lodged a complaint about the matter.

What did the police say about the whole matter?

SHO Anuj Tiwari said that after getting information about the case, action has been taken under Section 85, 115(2) of the Indian Penal Code, Section 3 and 4 of the Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Act 2019 as well as Section 3 and 5(1) of the Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Act 2021. Action is being taken seriously in the case.
