President Joe Biden has tested positive for COVID-19 while on a campaign trip to Las Vegas, according to multiple reports. The president is experiencing mild symptoms, including rhinorrhea (runny nose), a non-productive cough, and general malaise.
Biden was expected to deliver a speech at the UnidosUS annual conference in Las Vegas on Wednesday afternoon as part of an effort to rally Hispanic voters ahead of the November election. However, his appearance was canceled after the announcement of his positive COVID-19 test.
Janet Murguía, the president of UnidosUS, expressed President Biden’s regret for not being able to attend the event due to testing positive for the virus. The White House subsequently confirmed the president’s diagnosis.
Prior to the positive test, President Biden had been at the Original Lindo Michoacan restaurant in Las Vegas, where he was greeting diners and was scheduled to have an interview with Univision.
