After the confiscation, evidence was sought within three months of earning this immovable property from legitimate sources of income, but no evidence was presented by the opponents. The Commissioner Court had sent the attachment order to the Gangster Court for judicial scrutiny on March 7, on which the Gangster Court has considered the attachment order to be correct. The Gangster Court has also confirmed the decision of the Police Commissioner Court and ordered the vesting of the benami property in favor of the state government.

Atiq had several cases against him under the Gangster Act

A case under Gangster Act was registered against Atiq Ahmed in 2020 at Cantt police station, during the investigation of this case, the investigation came to know about the benami property of mafia Atiq. Atiq Ahmed had bought this property in the name of Hub Lal, a poor mason of Scheduled Caste of Lalapur, Yamunapar. 2.34 hectares of land in Kathula Gauspur was registered in the name of Hub Lal in 2015, the government price of this land is Rs 12.42 crore and the market price is Rs 50 crore.

When action was initiated against the illegal and benami properties of mafia Atiq Ahmed, Hublal himself came before the police and informed them about Atiq Ahmed buying land in his name. He said that due to the fear of Atiq Ahmed, he could not refuse the registration, but now he wants to return this land.

The police had sent a report to the Police Commissioner on 29 August 2023 to confiscate this land, the police investigation revealed that Hub Lal and his wife have a maximum of 1.65 lakh and 97 thousand rupees in their bank accounts. After the investigation, the report was presented to the Police Commissioner Court with the recommendation, the court of Police Commissioner Ramit Sharma had ordered confiscation on 4 November 2023. According to DCP City Deepak Bhukar, this is the first case of confiscated property being vested in the state government in 10 months and 17 days, according to him, the confiscated property has been vested in the state government due to strong evidence and effective advocacy.
