Poor students of Naxalite areas will get interest free education loan, a big announcement by this state government

Just days after Union Home Minister Amit Shah showed his seriousness to root out Naxalism and speed up development work in Bastar, it seems that the Chhattisgarh government is working to its full potential. The Chhattisgarh government has made a big announcement for students from poor families! Students from economically weaker families of Naxalism-affected districts of Chhattisgarh will get interest-free loans for technical and vocational higher education. CM Vishnu Dev Sai has ordered a special campaign to benefit as many students as possible under this scheme.

Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has also directed the collectors of several districts to provide the benefit of loan facility at 1% interest for higher technical and vocational education to students from economically weaker families. Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma announced that the Technical Education Department has been designated as the nodal department for operating the Chief Minister Higher Education Loan Interest Subsidy Scheme. This scheme includes 35 technical and vocational courses including diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, whose maximum loan limit is Rs 4 lakh.

Which students will be able to avail the benefit?
Only students from families with an annual income of less than Rs 2 lakh can avail the benefits of this scheme. After the loan period is over, they will have to pay only 1% interest on regular installments. The rest of the interest will be paid by the state government directly to the banks.

Which districts will get this benefit?
Students of Bastar, Bijapur, Dantewada, Jashpur, Kanker, Korea, Narayanpur, Rajnandgaon, Surguja, Dhamtari, Mahasamund, Gariaband, Balod, Sukma, Kondagaon and Balrampur districts will get interest-free loan.

Keep these things in mind?
Must be a resident of Chhattisgarh.
Must be enrolled in a recognized course.
The annual income of the family should not exceed Rs 2 lakh.
It is important to keep paying the loan installments.
These benefits will not be available if you leave the course midway or are expelled from the college.
If there is interruption in studies due to illness, concession can be given for up to one year.
