Policemen who killed Atiq Ahmed’s son Asad and shooter Ghulam in encounter will get President’s honour

It has been announced to give the President’s Gallantry Medal to the policemen who killed former MP and gangster Atiq Ahmed’s son Asad and shooter Mohammad Ghulam in an encounter. Asad and Ghulam were carrying a reward of Rs 5 lakh in the Umesh Pal murder case. Last year, before the killing of Atiq and Ashraf Ahmed in police custody, Asad Ahmed was killed in an encounter. A total of 17 officials, including 6 members of the STF team and other policemen who killed Asad and Mohammad Ghulam in an encounter on 13 April 2023 in Jhansi, will receive the President’s Gallantry Medal.

Both the shooters Asad and Ghulam were absconding in the Umesh Pal murder case. UP Police had placed a bounty of Rs 5 lakh each on both of them. Both were killed in an encounter led by UP STF Deputy SP Navendu and Deputy SP Vimal in Jhansi. STF recovered a British Bulldog revolver and a Walhther pistol from Asad and Ghulam

According to the information, Asad and Mohammad Ghulam were hiding near Parichha Dam in Jhansi. Parichha Dam is situated between Badagaon and Chirgaon police station area in Jhansi. Both of them were hiding in this area. UP STF did an encounter in Badagaon police station area of ​​Jhansi. This place is situated on Kanpur-Jhansi highway. STF killed Asad and Ghulam at a location 30 kms from Jhansi towards Kanpur.

On 24 February 2023, Umesh Pal, the main witness in the Rajupal murder case, was murdered in Prayagraj. When Umesh Pal was going to his house, he was fired upon while getting out of the car outside the street. Bombs were also thrown during this. Umesh Pal and his two government gunmen were killed in this attack.
