Police arrested a youth running a delivery app in Delhi, swindled Rs 19 lakh from him by accusing him of running a fake OTP fraud network

In Delhi, a college student who runs an online delivery portal was picked up by the police and 19 lakh rupees were extorted from him by threatening to implicate him in the charge of running a fake OTP fraud network. Now a case has been registered against three policemen including an SI rank officer in this case.

Last week, a case was registered against three policemen, Sub-Inspector Brijesh Redhu and Head Constables Satish Kumar and Anil Yadav, under sections of extortion and the Prevention of Corruption Act, officials said on Wednesday.

According to news agency PTI, these policemen were posted at the Cyber ​​Police Station in Hari Nagar, West Delhi. According to the complaint, the incident took place in March last year, when the complainant was called to the Cyber ​​Police Station in Hari Nagar in connection with a case of alleged fraud by his online delivery company.

The victim said in his complaint that he had gone to the police station with his brother and a friend where the accused policemen allegedly threatened to arrest them in a fake OTP fraud case. The policemen allegedly misbehaved with them and also made obscene comments on the complainant’s girlfriend’s photo, which was in his mobile phone. The victim also alleged that the policemen thrashed them for about half an hour.

The policemen had demanded Rs 25 lakh

The delivery app operator said that the accused policemen allegedly demanded Rs 25 lakh to release them. The next day when the complainant’s father filed a missing person’s complaint, the policemen allegedly asked him to give money. The victim raised about Rs 19.5 lakh from his mother and brother’s credit and debit cards and gave it to the policemen. The officer said that a vigilance inquiry was initiated in this case and after that an FIR was registered. Now further investigation is going on. Police said that the case of fraud is also being investigated.
