The country is celebrating its 78th Independence Day today. On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hoist the national flag at the historic Red Fort in Delhi and deliver his traditional address, the theme of which has been kept as ‘Developed India @ 2047’. Its objective is to take forward the government’s efforts towards transforming India into a developed nation by the centenary of independence in 2047.
When PM Modi will move towards the rampart to hoist the flag, a 21-gun salute will be given from the indigenous 105 mm light field gun. Around 6000 special guests have been invited to the ceremony. People associated with initiatives like Atal Innovation Mission, volunteers of Mera Yuva Bharat, people from the tribal community and representatives of farmers’ organizations will also be present in the program.
When the Prime Minister hoists the flag, flower petals will be showered from indigenous Advanced Light Helicopters. This aerial display will be performed by the Wing Commanders of the Indian Air Force. As soon as PM Modi hoists the flag, the cadets of the National Cadet Corps will sing the national anthem.
