PM gave a big gift to the farmers, released 109 varieties of 61 high-yielding crops

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given a big gift to the farmers today. PM Modi released 109 high-yielding, climate-friendly and bio-empowered varieties of crops at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute. On this occasion, the PM also interacted with farmers and scientists.

109 varieties of 61 crops released

On this occasion, the Prime Minister released 109 varieties of 61 crops, which include 34 agricultural crops and 27 horticultural crops. Among agricultural crops, seeds of various cereals including coarse cereals, fodder crops, oilseeds, pulses, sugarcane, cotton, fibre and other potential crops have been released. Among horticultural crops, various varieties of fruits, vegetables, plantation crops, tuber crops, spices, flowers and medicinal crops have been released.

Prime Minister Modi has always encouraged inclusive farming and adopting climate-friendly methods. He has also emphasized on promoting bio-fortified varieties of crops by linking them with many government programs like mid-day meal, Anganwadi etc. to make India malnutrition free. The PM specifically said that these steps taken in the field of agriculture will ensure good income for farmers and new opportunities for entrepreneurship for them. This step of releasing 109 high-yielding varieties is another step in this direction.

PM praised the scientists

On this occasion, the PM said that the new crop varieties will be very beneficial for the farmers as it will give more profit at less cost. This will also have a very positive impact on the environment. On this occasion, the PM also praised the scientists for developing these new crop varieties.

Scientists said that they are working in line with the suggestion given by the PM to bring unused crops into the mainstream. The Prime Minister suggested that new varieties are being developed every month to increase awareness among farmers about their benefits. Farmers should be properly informed about its importance.
