People in India will be able to remove glasses from their eyes! This Eye Drop got approval from DCGI

A new eye drop is going to be launched in the market soon for those who wear glasses in India. It is claimed that the use of this eye drop can help in removing reading glasses. This new eye drop has been approved by the drug regulatory agency of India. Actually, Mumbai-based Entod Pharmaceuticals has developed Presvue eye drops for the treatment of presbyopia. Presbyopia is a condition that affects 1.09 billion to 1.80 billion people worldwide.

Presbyopia occurs naturally with aging, causing difficulty focusing on near objects. It usually begins in the mid-40s and becomes severe by the late 60s.

ENTOD Pharmaceuticals has received final approval from the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) after the product was first recommended by the Subject Expert Committee (SEC) of the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO). Presvu is claimed to be the first eye drop in India formulated to reduce the need for reading glasses in people suffering from presbyopia.

The drop manufacturers have applied for a patent for this unique formulation and its manufacturing process. It is claimed that their formula not only eliminates the need for reading glasses, but also works as a lubricant for the eyes.

It is said that this eye drop has an advanced dynamic buffer technology, which allows it to quickly adapt to the pH of tears, ensuring consistent efficacy and safety for long-term use. This drop can be used for years.

Regarding Presvu, Dr. Dhananjay Bakhale said, “The approval of Presvu is a promising development in ophthalmology. For patients with presbyopia, this eye drop provides a non-invasive option that can improve near vision without the need for reading glasses.”

Nikhil K Masurkar, CEO, NTOD Pharmaceuticals said, “Presvu is the result of years of dedicated research and development. Presvu is not just a product, it is a solution that improves the lives of millions of people by providing them with better vision.”

Dr Aditya Sethi said that Presvue can provide an advanced option that improves near vision within 15 minutes. From the first week of October, prescription-based eye drops will be available in pharmacies at a price of Rs 350. The drug is for the treatment of mild to moderate presbyopia in individuals aged 40 to 55 years.
