Paris Paralympics 2024: India gets sixth medal in Paris Paralympics… Preeti Pal wins bronze

Paris Paralympics 2024: On the fourth day of Paris Paralympics 2024 i.e. on 1 September (Sunday), Indian athletes showed their strength and got the sixth medal for the country. Female athlete Preeti Pal won the bronze medal in the Women’s 300 meter race (T35) event. She completed the race in 30.01 seconds.

This is Preeti’s second bronze in this Paralympics. Earlier she had won bronze in 100 meters. With this, the number of medals of India in Paris Paralympics 2024 has now increased to 6. India has so far won one gold, one silver and 4 bronze medals.

Won gold with Paralympic record

Avni won the gold medal in the R2 Women’s 10m Air Rifle (SH1) event on Friday (August 30). Avni won the gold medal with a Paralympic record. Mona Agarwal of India won the bronze medal in the same event.

22-year-old Avni scored 249.7 points in the final, which is a Paralympic record. Bronze medalist Mona scored 228.7 points. Avni also won the gold medal in the same event at the Tokyo Paralympics (2020). That means she has defended her title.

Preeti got the third and Manish got the fourth medal

Shooter Preeti Pal won the third medal for India in the Paris Paralympics. She won the bronze medal in the Women’s 100 meter race (T35). After this, on August 30, shooter Manish Narwal won the fourth medal for India. He won the silver medal in the Men’s 10 meter air pistol (SH1).

Manish Narwal also performed brilliantly in the Tokyo Paralympic Games. Then he won gold in the P4 Mixed 50m Pistol SH-1 event. In the final, Manish Narwal scored a total of 234.9 points. South Korea’s Jon Jongdu won the gold medal in this event by scoring 237.4 points.

Rubina brought the country its fifth medal

On the third day of Paris Paralympics 2024 i.e. on 31st August, female shooter Rubina Francis won the fifth medal. It was a bronze medal. Rubina won the bronze medal in Women’s 10m Air Pistol (SH1). She scored 211.1 points in the final. In this way, the number of medals won by India in Paris Paralympics 2024 has now become five. This includes one gold, one silver and three bronze medals.
