Paris Olympics: CM Bhagwant Mann makes a big announcement on winning bronze in hockey, Punjab players will get Rs 1 crore each

The Indian men’s hockey team on Thursday won the bronze medal by defeating Spain 2-1 in the Paris Olympics 2024. This is India’s fourth bronze medal in hockey. Apart from this, the country has also won the highest number of 8 gold and 1 silver medal in Olympic history.

India had also won the bronze medal in the last Tokyo Olympics. With this, the Indian hockey team has created history in the Olympics after 52 years. The Punjab government has announced that the players of Punjab from the medal winning team will be given an amount of Rs 1 crore each.

Won medal after defeating Spain after 44 years

In the Moscow Olympics 1980, the Indian hockey team defeated Spain 4-3 to win its eighth and last gold medal in the Olympics. If we look at the record of India vs Spain in the Olympics, the Indian team has so far won 7 matches against Spain, lost two and one match was a draw.
