Paris Olympics 2024 Day 3 Roundup: On the second day of Paris Olympics 2024, India opened its account with a bronze medal. This medal was won by star shooter Manu Bhaker in shooting. But on the other hand, Rhythm Sangwan and Arjun Cheema have disappointed. Rhythm-Arjun’s team could not make it to the medal round of this event. Arjun-Rhythm finished 10th with 576 points and were eliminated.

No good news from badminton

In badminton, the pair of Ashwini Ponnappa and Tanisha Crasto also disappointed the country. This pair lost in their second group match. Ashwini-Tanisha lost to Nami Matsuyama and Chiharu Shida 11-21, 12-21.

Ramita missed the final, these players won medals

Ramita Jindal played the final match of the women’s 10 meter air rifle event on Monday, where she finished seventh. Ramita scored a total of 145.3 points. Korea’s Ban Hyojin won gold, Huang Yuting (China) won silver and Gogniet Audrey (Switzerland) won bronze.

Star shooter Prithviraj is currently at number 17

Prithviraj Tondaiman scored an excellent score of 25 in the second round of the Men’s Trap event qualification. He has reached the 17th position. There are still 3 rounds left. 30 shooters are participating in this event.

Arjun Babuta won hearts even after losing

India was expecting a medal from Arjun Babuta in the Men’s 10m Air Rifle event, however he missed the medal by just a few points. Arjun secured the fourth position. At one point Arjun was in a position to win the medal, but some wrong shots spoiled his game.

He was able to score only 9.5 points in the last shot. Arjun was able to score less than 10 on only two occasions out of 20 shots. China’s Lihao Sheng won the gold medal in this event. Lihao Sheng scored 252.2 points and made an Olympic record. Sweden’s Victor Lindgren won the silver with 251.4 points, while Croatia’s Maric Miran won the bronze medal with 230 points.

India played a draw in hockey

The match between India and Argentina ended in a 1-1 draw. For Argentina, Maico Casella scored a goal in the 22nd minute. For India, captain Harampreet Singh scored an important goal in the 59th minute of the game. The Indian team will face Ireland in its next match on July 30.

Lakshya Sen’s spectacular win

There is good news for India in badminton. Lakshya Sen defeated Julian Carregi (world number 52) 21-19, 21-14 in his second match of the group stage. Sen will now face Jonathan Christie on July 31 in his last match of Group L.

Indian team out of medal race in archery

The Indian men’s team has faced defeat in archery. In the quarter-finals, India had to face defeat by 2-6 at the hands of Turkey. The trio of Tarundeep Rai, Dheeraj Bommadevara, Praveen Jadhav lost in the quarter-finals. Earlier, the women’s team also had to face defeat at the hands of Netherlands in the quarter-finals.
