China’s world number one table tennis player Wang Chuqin suffered a crushing defeat in the men’s Olympic singles on Wednesday. His bat was broken a day earlier. Wang won the gold medal in mixed doubles in Paris on Tuesday, but his happiness soon turned into anger. In fact, a photographer accidentally pulled his bat while jostling to take a picture. Less than 24 hours later, Wang was eliminated in the 32nd round of singles after losing 4-2 to Sweden’s Truls Moregard. The bat matters

“I have almost never won a set against Wang, so it is a great pleasure to win at the Olympics,” the Swede said as he entered the last 16 for the first time.
Moregaard, who is trained by his older brother Malte, said Wang did not give his best, but added that it had nothing to do with the Chinese player’s bat.
