The Olympic Games are being held in Paris this time. There have been some controversies in the Paris Olympics 2024. Now British commentator Bob Ballard made indecent remarks on Australian women players, after which action was taken against him. The entire uproar happened after the 4×100 meter freestyle relay women’s team event of swimming.

In that event, Australia’s Molly O’Callaghan, Emma McKeon, Meg Harris and Shayna Jack performed brilliantly and won gold. Australian players defeated American and Chinese players. After the event, when the Australian players were celebrating the victory and accepting the greetings of the audience, Bob Ballard commented on the players. Ballard said, ‘Well, they are finishing now. You know how women are. They keep roaming around, keep doing their makeup.’

The broadcaster took this action

Co-commentator and British swimming champion Lizzie Simmonds described his comments as ‘disrespectful’, to which Ballard laughed. The clip quickly went viral and broadcaster Eurosport later removed him from the commentary panel. A statement issued by the broadcaster said that Ballard has been removed from the commentary team immediately. Ballard has not yet commented publicly on his comments.

…when there was a ruckus over hijab

There was controversy even before the start of Paris Olympics 2024. On the other hand, talking about the games, Manu Bhaker has once again raised hopes of a bronze medal. Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh have qualified for the bronze medal match in the 10 meter air pistol mixed team event. Both of them hit 20 perfect shots in the qualification round and entered the medal match by scoring a total of 580 points.

Now Manu-Sarabjot will play against Lee Wo Ho and Oh Ye Jin of South Korea for the bronze medal match. This match will be held on July 30 from 1 pm. If Manu Bhaker wins the bronze medal on July 30, she will become the first Indian player to win two medals in a single Olympics. Before this, no Indian player has been able to win two medals in a single Olympics. Sushil Kumar and PV Sindhu have definitely won two medals each, but these medals came in different Olympic Games.
