In a village in Madhya Pradesh, people fired countless bullets from guns to break a pot. The surprising thing was that this firing was done in the name of tradition in the presence of a crowd of hundreds of people. During this, something untoward could have happened. But the police-administration remained completely unaware of this incident. Now the video of the continuous firing is going viral on social media. The police is giving its clarification by saying that they have no information about the matter.
The video going viral on social media is of the Matki breaking competition held every year on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan in Ikloud village of Vijaypur area of the district. Youngsters, elderly as well as many minors participated in the competition. In the viral video, Matkis kept in the river are being targeted with guns. Many gunmen arrived to participate in this competition.
On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan festival on 19th August, a Matki breaking competition was organized on the banks of the Kwari river in Ikloud village. Here, the tradition is to break the Matki with a bullet instead of a stick or coconut.
Like every year, this time also 5 pots were placed in the river, on which a prize was also announced by the Panchayat. After this, indiscriminate firing was done to break the pots. The video of which is going viral on social media. Watch Video:-
Let us tell you that celebratory firing is completely banned. Despite this, bullets were fired in Ikloud village of Vijaypur to follow the old tradition. Now the responsible officers are washing their hands off the matter by saying that they are unaware of it.

SDOP of Vijaypur section PN Goyal says that the video has not come to my notice and neither do I know about any competition. I came to know about this from the media only. If any such video has gone viral, then I will look into it. Appropriate action will be taken in the matter.
