PAK vs BAN 1st Test Analysis: Mistake after mistake, Pakistan team got caught in its own net… Bangladesh entered the home ground and crushed them like this

Pakistan vs Bangladesh 1st Test Analysis: The Pakistan cricket team is continuously making mistakes. From Asia Cup 2023, ODI World Cup 2023, this story reached T20 World Cup 2024. Now these mistakes are costing Pakistan heavily in Tests as well. The team had to bear the brunt of this in the Test match against Bangladesh in its own home.

Bangladesh cricket team has created history by defeating Pakistan in a test match in its own home. This is Bangladesh team’s first overall win against Pakistan in test history. A 2 match test series is being played between Bangladesh and Pakistan.

The first match was held in Rawalpindi between 21 and 25 August, in which Bangladesh won by 10 wickets. In this first Test, Pakistan declared the innings after scoring 448 runs for 6 wickets in the first innings. Then Bangladesh scored 565 runs in the first innings and took a lead of 117 runs.

After this, the Pakistan team collapsed for 146 runs in the second innings and set a target of just 30 runs. In response, Bangladesh created history by winning this match by 10 wickets. Let’s know what 5 big mistakes Pakistan made in this test…

The captain and management could not understand the pitch

Before this test, there was news that Pakistan had prepared a pitch in Rawalpindi that was favorable to fast bowlers. This was the reason why captain Shan Masood, coach and team management believed in this and fielded 4 fast bowlers in the match. Whereas Bangladesh team had 6 spinners and they turned the match around. The spinners got good help from the pitch on the fourth and fifth day, especially on the fifth day.

After losing the match, Shan Masood said that the pitch did not play as we had thought. This seems like a childish statement. Perhaps he should have said that he made a mistake in reading the pitch. If the Pakistan team had understood the pitch correctly and had included a specialist spinner in the team, perhaps the result of the match could have been different.

was hasty in declaring the innings

After misreading the pitch, Pakistan team got a golden opportunity to make a comeback in the match. After losing 3 wickets for 16 runs in the first innings, the team managed the innings and scored 448 runs for 6 wickets. Here Mohammad Rizwan was playing after scoring 171 runs and Shaheen Shah Afridi was playing after scoring 29 runs. This is where Pakistan team made the second mistake.

The captain declared the innings here. This proved to be a huge loss for the Pakistan team and the match slipped out of their hands. Whereas at this time the Pakistan team had a chance to score more than 550 or 600. If this had happened, the result of the match could have been different.

Had to rely heavily on fast bowlers

The main reason for declaring the first innings at 448 runs was the trust in the fast bowlers, but captain Masood was disappointed here too. Pakistani fast bowlers Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, Khurram Shahzad and Mohammad Ali were not able to do anything on the pitch and Bangladesh got the full benefit.

Mushfiqur Rahim played a brilliant innings of 191 runs. While Shadman Islam scored 93, Mehdi Hasan Miraz scored 77 and Liton Das scored 56 runs and gave a tough fight to the Pakistani fast bowlers and scored a huge score of 565 runs. In this way, the Pakistan team, which is known for its fast bowlers, now found this strength to be a burden and turned into a weakness. Due to which they lost the match.

Batsmen could not stand against spinners

In the second innings, Bangladesh had taken a lead of 117 runs. Here too, Pakistan team had a chance to save the match. They just had to stay at the crease till the last ball and if not win, then at least there was a chance to draw the test. But the real challenge in front of the Pakistani batsmen were the 6 spinners of the Bangladesh team, who turned the whole game around.

Pakistani batsmen were seen falling to their knees in front of spin bowlers. For Bangladesh, off-spinner Mehdi Hasan Miraz took 4 wickets and left-arm spinner Shakib Al Hasan took 3 wickets and bundled out Pakistan for just 146 runs. The rest Shoriful Islam, Hasan Mahmud and Nahid Rana took 1 wicket each.

Only Rizwan could shine for Pakistan and played the highest innings of 51 runs. While Abdullah Shafiq scored 37, Babar Azam scored 22 and captain Shan Masood scored 14 runs. Apart from these, no batsman could touch the double digit mark. Pakistan team scored 146 runs in the second innings and set a target of just 30 runs. In response, Bangladesh won the match by 10 wickets.

Pakistani team looked overconfident

From Asia Cup 2023, ODI World Cup 2023 to T20 World Cup 2024 and now in Tests as well, Pakistan team has been continuously making a big and common mistake. This mistake is overconfidence. Before every tournament, the team creates such an atmosphere that it will return as a champion, but the matter turns out to be completely the opposite. The same thing happened before this home Test series against Bangladesh.

This series is being played under the ICC World Test Championship. In such a situation, Pakistani captain Shan Masood had said that his team would play the final of the ICC World Test Championship. However, with this defeat, the team has slipped to the 8th position in the points table. It is not even close to the final. Due to this overconfidence, the Pakistani team makes a lot of mistakes and has to face defeat.
