OLA accused of theft, MapMyIndia sent court notice, this is the whole matter

OLA recently launched its in-house maps Ola Maps and has started using it in its services. Now a new battle has started regarding these maps. Actually, MapMyIndia’s parent company CE Info System has sent a notice to Ola Electric and has made serious allegations of data theft against it.

CE Info System has alleged that Ola has copied its data and also accused it of violating license rules. It said that it has saved the data of MapMyIndia.

CE Info System sent legal

According to a Forbes India report, CE Info System has sent a legal notice and claimed that Ola has violated the terms of the 2021 agreement and harmed its business. The report said that reverse engineering and any tampering was prohibited under the agreement.

Ola Maps will be used instead of Google Maps

After announcing the development of Ola Maps, CEO Bhavish Aggarwal has announced that now his platform will shift from Google Maps to OLA Maps. Ola used to pay around Rs 100 crore to use Google Maps, this amount will be saved after Ola Maps.

OLA announced its own maps, and a few days later Google also announced a reduction in the charges of its maps i.e. Google Maps. Bhavish Aggarwal mentioned this in a post on X and wrote in it, Dear Google, you are very late.
