Now you can do BTech from IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi Campus without JEE Advanced, admissions will be done for the first time

IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi Campus: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi is going to start two new undergraduate courses in its Abu Dhabi campus. Giving this information, the director of the institute, Ranjan Banerjee, said that IIT Delhi will start two new undergraduate courses in Abu Dhabi campus from September. Earlier, only post graduate courses were taught in this campus started in 2023, but now undergraduate courses in Computer Science Engineering and Energy Engineering are going to start here.

Ranjan Banerjee, director of the institute, said that a total of 60 students will be admitted in these two courses. Of these, 20 students will be those who have passed JEE (Advanced) 2024 and the remaining 40 students will be selected through a new entrance test called Combined Admission Entrance Test (CAET). Of the 40 seats to be filled through CAET, 20 are reserved for UAE citizens and 20 for Indians living in the UAE and students from other countries.

IIT Delhi-Abu Dhabi plans to build a permanent campus
The director also said that the Abu Dhabi campus is working closely with companies and partners from the UAE and the Gulf region. Research, innovation and entrepreneurship activities are also expected to start here soon. He said that there is a plan to build a permanent campus of IIT Delhi-Abu Dhabi.

At present, professors will be sent from IIT Delhi
For now, professors from the Delhi campus are being sent to the Abu Dhabi campus. But soon professors will be recruited for the Abu Dhabi campus as well. The director said, “In due course, faculty recruitment will be done for the Abu Dhabi campus as well, which will be in line with the faculty recruitment standards of IIT Delhi and by following similar processes, it will be ensured that the quality of education at the Abu Dhabi campus is at par with the standards set at the Delhi campus.”

Will the students who did not get admission here be able to take admission in Abu Dhabi?
When this question was asked to IIT Delhi Director Professor Rangan Banerjee during a press conference, he smiled and replied that most of the students who apply for admission in IIT Delhi do not get admission. We will not let injustice happen to the students who got admission here and have reached here after going through tough competition, that is, at present there is no such plan to give admission to Abu Dhabi to the students who did not get admission here.
