Now parliamentary action on Hindenburg disclosures, Public Accounts Committee may send summons to SEBI chief

After Hindenburg’s allegations, market regulator SEBI chief Madhari Puri Buch has remained in the center of discussion. One after the other allegations are being made against her. However, the SEBI chief has called all the allegations so far baseless and has presented clarification. Recently, Congress leader Pawan Khera also made allegations against the SEBI chairperson. Now information has been received from sources that parliamentary action is going to be taken on these revelations.

The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) headed by senior Congress leader and Lok Sabha member KC Venugopal will review the performance of ‘regulatory bodies established by an Act of Parliament’ such as the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). At the same time, its chairperson will be summoned for the matter related to SEBI.
