‘Now don’t come wearing a Tilak…’, a teacher’s order to students in Bijnor, suspended after investigation

A case has come to light in an upper primary school of Bijnor where children were forbidden to come after applying tilak. After the matter escalated, the Basic Education Officer has suspended the teacher who refused to let the children come. While the teacher’s salary hike has been stopped. The entire case is being reported from the upper primary school located in village Bhandeda.

According to the information, a few days ago, some students studying in primary school had complained to their parents in this regard. The students had said that a few days ago, a female teacher and a teacher of their school had forbidden them from wearing a Tilak. Also, the students who wear a Tilak in the school are asked to remove it in the school.

Basic education officer suspended after investigation

After coming to know about this, the parents along with some Hindu organisations created a ruckus against the school 3 days ago. The Basic Education Officer was also informed about the ruckus. After this, Basic Education Officer Yogendra Singh handed over the investigation of the entire case to Block Education Officer Suryakant Giri. Suryakant went to Green School and investigated the entire matter. During the investigation, the students of class 6 told the officials that teacher Tanveer Ayesha and assistant teacher Mukhtar Ahmed forbid students from coming to school with a Tilak on their forehead.

At the same time, if someone comes wearing a Tilak, it is removed. The Block Education Officer told in his report that while he was talking to the children of class 6 and taking their statements, the teacher Tanveer Ayesha was stopping the children of class 7 and 8 from giving statements in front of him. After which the children of class 7 and 8 denied any such incident. While the staff also denied such things.

Based on the statements of the class 6 students, it was found that both the teacher and the teacher were violating the basic education rules in the school. After receiving the report from the Block Education Officer, Basic Education Officer Yogendra Kumar has suspended teacher Tanveer Ayesha, while the salary increment of teacher Mukhtar has been stopped on the charge of stopping other students from coming to school wearing kurta pyjama.
