‘Not going anywhere in UK-US, Finland, intending to return to the country soon…’, Sheikh Hasina’s son told Aaj Tak

Sheikh Hasina’s son has said something big about her return after she resigned and was exiled from the country. Sheikh Hasina’s son Sajeeb Wajed had said in a media interaction that Sheikh Hasina will return to Bangladesh as soon as democracy is restored in Bangladesh. However, her son has spoken to Aaj Tak on the questions of what is Sheikh Hasina’s future plan and where will she go and when will she return.

Have not applied for asylum anywhere
Where will Sheikh Hasina go next? On this, Sajeeb Wazed said, ‘There is a lot of misinformation. Sheikh Hasina has not yet applied for asylum anywhere. Neither in the UK, US nor Finland. She has no plans to go anywhere so far from her country. She intends to return to Bangladesh soon. Whether she will continue her political innings or retire is a matter for later.

Why did Sheikh Hasina leave Bangladesh?
Will she stay in politics or leave politics? In response to this question, she said that no decision has been taken in this regard yet. There is a need for reshuffle in the party and she is focusing on that. In response to the question why Sheikh Hasina left Bangladesh, her son Wazed said that she was disappointed when we saw that our leaders and workers were being killed. We said that our leaders and workers cannot be left like this. They have to be organized, kept safe. She strongly believes in the strength of the Awami League and hopes for a strong comeback.

She will definitely return but it is not yet decided whether she will return as a retired leader or as an active leader.

‘We cannot turn our back on our people’
He said that the members of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s family will not leave their people and their party Awami League in the lurch. Awami League is the biggest and oldest party of Bangladesh, so we cannot turn our back on our people. After the restoration of democracy in Bangladesh, they will definitely return to their homeland.

He also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government for the safety of his mother Sheikh Hasina and requested to put pressure for the restoration of democracy in Bangladesh. Joy said that I am thankful to the Government of India from the bottom of my heart for the safety of my mother. I am grateful to PM Modi. If India wants stability in its eastern region, then it will have to put pressure on the international community. Talking about the ‘India Out’ campaign in Bangladesh, Joy said that anti-India forces are very active and by ousting the Awami League from power, ISI can now supply as many weapons as it wants to Bangladesh.
