Noida police confiscated liquor being taken from Chandigarh to Bihar, it was being planned to be consumed during Diwali and other festivals

Noida’s Thana Expressway Police has seized a large consignment of liquor being bought from Chandigarh and being transported to Bihar for supply. Police have recovered 560 boxes of illegal liquor from a container truck, the estimated cost of which is estimated to be Rs 1 crore. Police say that a person smuggling liquor has also been arrested and further action is being taken.

Actually, the Expressway Police Station, acting on the basis of local intelligence and confidential information, has seized illegal liquor from a truck near Chhaprauli cut on the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway single service road. Along with this, Sunil Kumar, who was smuggling liquor, has been arrested. A total of 570 boxes (5065 liters of liquor) of illegal English liquor has been recovered from the truck.

DCP said this in the matter

Additional DCP said that the police has sealed the container and seized the liquor. During interrogation, Sunil Kumar, who was smuggling the liquor, told that liquor is available cheaply in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh. Taking advantage of this, they were taking the liquor to sell it on the upcoming Diwali festival and other festivals.

The smuggler further said that they were going to buy cheap liquor from here and take it to Bihar and sell it at high prices. During this time the police caught them. Based on the information received from the arrested smuggler, the police has started searching for other people involved in the liquor business.
