Noé Debré accepts Deadline’s French TV Disruptor Award, issues a rallying call for public broadcasting and discusses ‘Parliament’, ‘Zorro’ and his new Max series.

Special: Noe Debre issued a cri-de-coueur for public broadcasting as he accepted Deadline’s inaugural French TV Disruptor Award Unifrance Rendez-vous Occurrence in Normandy, France.

Debre is one of France’s most exciting writers and directors and has worked on projects for pay TV services and has a new show for Max, but is best known for the breakout comedy series. Debre was speaking to an audience of industry professionals around the historic Les Franciscans Deauville Centre, a museum and venue for concerts and cultural events in Normandy, France. The region rolled out the red carpet with local Michelin-starred chefs creating artisanal menus serving regional dishes and drinks from nearby vineyards. Before the glitzy bash, Debre sat down with Deadline to talk about her work.
