NEET UG: NEET counseling registration from today, apply like this, choice-filling from August 16

NEET and Counselling 2024: The Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) will begin the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) undergraduate counseling 2024 today, August 14. Candidates who have cleared NEET UG 2024 and are interested in applying for 15 per cent All India Quota (AIQ) MBBS and BDS seats can do so by visiting the official website mcc.nic.in.

What happens after registration for counselling?
The registration window for Round 1 is open till 12 noon on August 20 and the payment window is open till 3 pm on August 20. Participating institutes and the National Medical Commission will verify the preliminary seat matrix from August 14 to 15. The choice-filling window will open on August 16 and remain open till 11:55 pm on August 20, with choice locking between 4 pm and 11:55 pm on August 20. The seat allotment process for the first round will be completed between August 21 and 22 and the result will be released on August 23. Candidates will have to report to their designated institutes between August 24 and 29.

NEET UG Round 2
Verification of seat matrix by institutes for the second round of NEET UG counselling will be done from September 4 to 5. The registration process will begin from September 5 and continue till September 10 (12 noon). The payment facility will be available for three more hours, which will run till 3 pm on September 10. Choice filling will begin from September 6 and it will end at 11.55 pm on September 10. Choice locking will be from 4 pm to 11.55 pm on September 10. Round 2 seat allotment result will be declared on September 13.

NEET UG Counselling 2024: How to register
Step 1: Visit the official website of MCC, mcc.nic.in.
Step 2: Click on the UG Counselling tab.
Step 3: The NEET UG 2024 counselling link will open for registration. Click on it
Step 4: Enter the required information and register
Step 5: Now login and fill the application form.
Step 6: Upload documents, pay registration fees and submit.
Step 7: Take a printout of the application form.

Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) will conduct counselling for All India Quota seats, Deemed Universities, Central Universities, ESIC and 15 per cent seats of AFMC, BHU and AMU. For more details, candidates can visit the MCC website.

As per the instructions of DGHS, 15 percent of the candidates will apply for All India Quota seats and counselling will be stopped when the seats are exhausted. Apart from this, admission to all the remaining 85 percent seats is provided under state quota. Admission counselling for state quota seats is conducted by state counselling authorities or committees.

These documents will be needed

Students going to participate in NEET UG counseling will need class 10th and 12th mark sheets and certificates, income certificate, domicile certificate, caste certificate (if applicable), valid identity proof, colour passport size photograph, scanned signature, transfer certificate, handicapped certificate (if applicable). In such a situation, if you are short of any document, then get it ready from now.

The number of toppers decreased due to revised results

There are 17 toppers in the revised result of NEET UG, while earlier there were 61 toppers. A total of 24,06,079 had registered for the exam, out of which 23,33,162 appeared. NTA said that the total number of candidates who passed is 13,15,853.
