NEET-UG Result, The National Examination Agency (NTA) on Saturday declared centre-wise and city-wise results of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Undergraduate (NEET-UG), the exam which is under scrutiny for alleged irregularities. An analysis of the NEET result data revealed that candidates who allegedly benefitted from paper leaks and other irregularities did not perform well, but many students performed well in the exam at some centres. NTA officials did not respond to queries about the high number of students performing well at some centres.

32 lakh candidates appeared in the paper

The NEET-UG exam was held on May 5 at 4750 centers in 571 cities, in which 32 lakh candidates appeared. They have been published in this format after the order of the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court is hearing several petitions regarding alleged irregularities in conducting the examination, including paper leak. The performance of the candidates who appeared for the exam at the centers that came under investigation for alleged irregularities in the NEET UG exam was comparatively very poor. These centers include Oasis School of Hazaribagh in Jharkhand, Hardayal Public School of Jhajjar in Haryana, Jai Jalaram International School of Godhra in Gujarat.

According to an analysis of the data released by the NTA, some centres have a higher number of students scoring high marks. For example, at a centre in RK University’s School of Engineering in Rajkot, Gujarat, more than 240 candidates scored more than 600 marks, of which 12 candidates scored more than 700 out of 720. At Mangal Chand Didwania Vidya Mandir centre in Sikar, Rajasthan, four students scored more than 700 marks, 45 students scored more than 650 marks and 115 candidates scored more than 600 marks. At another centre in Sikar, Aravali Public School, 90 candidates scored more than 600 marks in the NEET-UG exam. At another centre in Sikar, 83 students scored more than 600 but less than 700 marks. More than 27,000 students appeared for NEET-UG in Sikar, out of which more than 4,200 scored above 600 marks and more than 2,000 scored above 450 marks.

30204 students scored 650 and above marks

Analysis of NEET-UG result data showed that in total, 30204 students have scored 650 and above, which is 1.3 percent of the 23.22 lakh candidates across the country. At the same time, more than 79500 students have scored more than 600 marks. These candidates will get a place in the top 30000 and will be able to get admission in government medical colleges. Out of these, 2037 students from Sikar alone will be able to get admission in government medical colleges.

45 candidates of Model School centre in Rohtak, Haryana scored more than 600 marks, while more than 45 students of SDSN Mahavidyalaya centre in Lucknow scored more than 600 marks. The marks of these students at these centres were less than 700. None of the candidates who took the revised NEET-UG exam at Hardayal Public School centre in Jhajjar, Haryana scored more than 682 marks. This centre had come under scrutiny after six candidates who took the medical entrance exam there on May 5 scored 720 out of 720 marks.

At AN College centre in Patna, Bihar, 29 students scored above 650 marks, while at Holy Mission Secondary School, 21 students scored above 650 and two scored above 700. Candidates from centres where discrepancies were found in the first NEET-UG exam have scored lower marks in the revised exam. For instance, the principal of Oasis School in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand, has been arrested in connection with alleged irregularities in the NEET exam. Out of 701 candidates at this centre, only five (0.71 per cent) managed to make it to the top one per cent, which is similar to the 0.66 per cent success rate for the whole of Hazaribagh.

The next hearing in the paper leak case will be on July 22

The Supreme Court had said in its order that the results should be declared without revealing the identity of the candidates. The court had said that it wants to find out whether the candidates who took the exam at the alleged disputed centers have got more marks than the candidates who took the exam at other places. The next hearing in this case will be on July 22.
