NEET-UG 2024 Supreme Court Hearing Live Updates: ‘ : The Supreme Court is hearing petitions seeking cancellation of NEET UG 2024 entrance exam. The lawyers of both the sides are presenting their arguments on all these applications before a bench of Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, Justice JB Pardiwala and Justice Manoj Mishra. These applications were also heard on Monday. During the day-long hearing on several petitions, including petitions seeking re-conduct of NEET-UG exam, the court faced a strange situation regarding a physics question. It was argued that the question had two correct answers and the candidates who gave one of the two correct answers were given four marks. The bench headed by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud was told that this had a significant impact on the merit list of successful candidates. Due to this controversy, the court asked the Director of IIT-Delhi to constitute a team of three subject experts.

Indian Youth Congress demonstration

Indian Youth Congress activists on Monday staged a protest demanding re-conducting of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Undergraduate (NEET-UG). The protest was held near Parliament. During the protest, many activists covered their faces with black cloth, carried placards and raised slogans against the government. The protesters were carrying a huge banner with “Re-NEET” written on it. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is probing the alleged irregularities in the medical entrance exam and six FIRs have been registered in the case so far. The NEET-UG exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH and other related courses in government and private institutions.
