The National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) is the gateway to medical and dental education in India. After the successful completion of the NEET 2024 exam, the next crucial step for aspiring medical students is the NEET UG 2024 counselling process.

NEET UG 2024 Counselling Dates

The NEET UG 2024 counselling is expected to commence in the first week of July 2024, shortly after the declaration of the NEET 2024 results on June 4, 2024.

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), the authority responsible for conducting the NEET UG counselling, will likely announce the official NEET 2024 counselling dates on July 6, 2024. The counselling process is expected to be completed by November 2024, with around six rounds of counselling.

NEET UG 2024 Counselling Registration

To participate in the NEET UG 2024 counselling, candidates must register on the official website of the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) at mcc.nic.in.

The steps to register for NEET UG 2024 counselling are as follows:

  1. Visit the MCC website (mcc.nic.in) and click on the ‘Registration’ tab.
  2. Select ‘New Candidate Registration’ from the dropdown menu.
  3. Read the instructions carefully and enter the mandatory details such as your NEET UG roll number, parent’s name, date of birth, and security code.
  4. Create a password and complete the registration form by providing your personal, educational, and NEET 2024 result details.
  5. Upload your scanned photograph and signature.
  6. Pay the registration fee and take a printout of the registration confirmation page.

NEET UG 2024 Counselling Process

The NEET UG 2024 counselling process involves the following steps:

  1. Registration: Candidates must register on the MCC website to participate in the counselling process.
  2. Choice Filling: Registered candidates can fill in their preferred choices of medical and dental colleges.
  3. Choice Locking: Candidates must lock their choices, as they cannot be changed until the next round of counselling.
  4. Seat Allotment: Based on the candidates’ choices and their NEET 2024 rank, seats will be allotted.
  5. Reporting: Candidates must report to the allotted college and complete the admission process.

The NEET UG 2024 counselling will be conducted in four rounds: NEET AIQ Round 1, NEET AIQ Round 2, AIQ Mop-up Round, and AIQ Stray Vacancy Round.
