Will the NEET PG exam be postponed or not? An important hearing is going to be held in the Supreme Court today on this. More than 2 lakh candidates and their parents are keeping an eye on this hearing which is taking place just two days before the exam. The Postgraduate Medical Entrance Exam i.e. Postgraduate National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET PG) will be held on 11 August 2024. This exam is conducted by the National Board of Examination in Medical Sciences (NBEMS). Meanwhile, some candidates have approached the Supreme Court demanding postponement of NEET PG exam.

- NBEMS has announced to conduct NEET PG exam in 2 shifts on 11 August. Normalization formula is adopted for evaluation when the exam is held in more than one shift. However, the board has not given information about the normalization formula in any notification issued so far. Candidates have approached the Supreme Court regarding this.
- The petition has raised the question that there is a possibility that one batch of candidates may face a more difficult question paper than the other batch and the formula for normalization should be made known before conducting the examination so that there is no possibility of arbitrariness.
- It has been said in the petition that the petitioners and many similar candidates have been allotted such cities where they may face many difficulties in reaching there.
- The petition also said that more than two lakh students are going to appear in the NEET PG exam. The exam is to be conducted in 185 exam cities. Train tickets to reach the exam centers are not available and flight fares are also very high. This may make it almost impossible for a large number of students to reach their exam centers.
Let us tell you that this year this exam was to be held on 23 June but due to irregularities in UGC NET and NEET PG exam, NEET PG was postponed. The exam will be held on 11 August, the admit card of which has been released on the official website.
