Paris Olympics 2024: Pakistan’s javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem has won gold in the Paris Olympics. He threw the javelin 92.97 meters away. Meanwhile, Neeraj Chopra, who is considered a strong contender for gold, won the silver medal for India by throwing the javelin 89.45 meters away. There is an atmosphere of celebration in the whole of Pakistan on Arshad Nadeem’s victory. Pakistan has got an Olympic medal after 32 years, due to which the media there is full of news about Arshad Nadeem. Along with this, many things are being said about Neeraj Chopra as well.

Pakistan’s leading newspaper ‘Dawn’ has titled the article written on Arshad Nadeem – ‘Arshad Nadeem included himself in the pages of history with Olympic gold.’

‘Received a gift before Independence Day’

Dawn has posted a picture of Nadeem after the victory in the article in which he is seen waving the Pakistani flag. In the article, the Pakistani newspaper wrote that the country has received a gift before Independence Day.

The newspaper wrote, ‘Arshad Nadeem started the javelin throw final with his arms in the air and a smile on his face. He left with a gold medal and a record. He threw the javelin 92.97 meters and broke the previous record of 90.57 meters and created a new record.’

Dawn wrote that Pakistan has won gold in the Olympics after 40 years. In 1984, Pakistan had won gold in hockey in the Los Angeles Olympics.

‘It seemed like Arshad was forgotten

The newspaper wrote that during the event, all eyes were on India’s Neeraj Chopra, Germany’s Julian Weber and Czech Republic’s Jakub Vadlejch. Amidst all this, it seemed that Arshad had been forgotten… but he was happy there, away from the eyes of the people. And then came Arshad’s magical moment in which he created history.

In another article, the newspaper wrote about Neeraj Chopra that behind Arshad on the podium was his rival Neeraj Chopra who made a foul throw in his first attempt and won the silver medal with a throw of 89.45 meters in the second attempt.

‘Neeraj’s throw to Arshad’s

The newspaper wrote that Neeraj’s throw was nowhere close to any of Arshad’s throws. The newspaper wrote, ‘Arshad’s rivals, including India’s arch rival Neeraj Chopra, could not even come close to his mark in the competition. Chopra threw 89.45 meters in his second attempt, which gave him the silver medal.’

Another Pakistani newspaper, The Express Tribune, wrote that Nadeem’s victory is a historic achievement for Pakistan which will prove to be a milestone in the sports history of Pakistan.

Pakistani TV network Geo News headlined one of its reports, ‘That was my day – Winner Arshad Nadeem was full of confidence about winning gold in the Olympics.’

The newspaper wrote, ‘Arshad Nadeem, the first person in Pakistan’s history to win a gold medal individually, was confident about his victory. He said that it was my day and he created history at the Paris Olympics on Thursday. The 27-year-old javelin thrower said in an exclusive interview with Geo News – It was my day… I could have thrown the javelin even farther.’

‘Pakistan won, it is also happy

Neeraj Chopra’s mother’s interview was also prominently aired on Pakistan’s Geo TV in which she was seen praising her son as well as Arshad Nadeem.

Neeraj Chopra’s mother said, ‘It’s a game, someone will win…Pakistan won, they are also very happy. Neeraj won, they are also very happy.’
